At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Chantal was located near latitude 35.6 North, longitude 40.9 West.
The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the south near 6 mph (9 km/h). A turn toward the southwest and west is expected over the weekend, followed by a slow motion toward the northwest Sunday night and Monday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Gradual weakening is anticipated and Chantal is forecast to dissipate on Monday.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1014 mb (29.95 inches).
