The National Hurricane Center began issuing advisories on Subtropical Storm Ana overnight, making it the first named storm of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season 23 days before it officially begins. As of 5 am Friday, Ana was nearly stationary about 160 miles south of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The forecast for Ana calls for some strengthening in the next 24 hours and it could even become purely tropical later today. Thereafter, the system is expected to weaken upon a gradual approach to the South Carolina coastline this weekend and dissipate entirely by early next week.

Impacts to the State of Florida will be little to none. Outside of a few clouds and a very low chance for a shower in extreme northeast Florida, most areas will remain dry and warm this weekend. Typical afternoon thunderstorms are possible with the sea breezes in the afternoon hours across south Florida where some higher moisture is present. Otherwise, temperatures will be above normal in many areas and skies will be sunny through Sunday, ideal conditions for pool and beach goers. Water enthusiasts should be aware of the elevated risk of rip currents, though, at the Atlantic beaches through Sunday.
