Hurricane Season Starts Quiet, Rainy Season Doesn't

[promote-tropics]The 2015 Hurricane Season begins on a quiet note, which is nothing unusual. No tropical storm formation is expected in the next five days per The National Hurricane Center. The first week of June also signals the beginning of the rainy season for most areas. And like clockwork, the afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be developing nearly every day along sea breezes from both coasts. An upper-level disturbance across north and central parts of the state Monday and Tuesday will lead to stronger thunderstorm activity that could potentially becoming severe in a few spots. This same disturbance will drift into the southern two-thirds of Florida by midweek, further increasing the potential for strong thunderstorms south of I-4 as the sea breezes collide. Locally heavy rain, gusty winds, small hail and frequent lightning will accompany the stronger storms each and every day this week.
