Lower rain chances; heat indices climb to the 100's

Temperatures will be in the lower to mid 90's across the Panhandle to Central Florida, and in South Florida to the Florida Keys afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 80's.

From Thursday to Friday isolated chances for late afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible over highway 301 and in central Florida, from Waycross to Ocala. In South Florida, storms may develop during the afternoon, but mainly to the west of the Miami metro area.

Due to the lessening rain chances, heat indices may near or surpass 100 degrees in the interior areas of north and central Florida.
