Marginal risk for severe weather; Above average heat continues

Daily chances for afternoon storms elevate the possibility for damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours across the state.

On Tuesday, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible from the panhandle to central Florida. The strongest activity is forecast to be over highway 301, I-4, and west of I-95 during the early afternoon and early evening hours. Before showers and storms develop, conditions will be very hot and humid during the morning and early afternoon throughout the state. There is a possibility for heat indices on Tuesday to near or surpass 100 degree in areas along the I-10 corridor. Elsewhere, temperatures will remain in the 90's, but cool off as showers and storms develop.
