Rough Boating Conditions in Wake of Sunday's Front

[jwplayer mediaid="17030"]

A seasonably strong autumn front will be sweeping across the state Sunday night. In its wake, gusty north winds will lead to adverse boating conditions across most coastal waters of Florida through Wednesday. Small Craft Advisories have been issued for all coastal waters north of I-4 through Monday. The advisories go in effect further south Monday and last until Wednesday in portions of south Florida. Winds will generally be in the 20 to 30 mph range offshore, with gusts that high even possible along the coast. Wave heights will average 3 to 5 feet in near shore waters along the Gulf coast, but an onshore flow could produce waves as high as 7 or 8 feet by Tuesday and Wednesday along the Atlantic coast. Experienced boaters are urged to use caution at sea and amateur water enthusiasts are urged to stay off the water in these conditions.
