You may have noticed the wind today. At times, it was nearing tropical storm force in much of central and north Florida. Those northwest winds are driving an arctic air mass deep into Florida, and a widespread freeze will be possible across much of the panhandle and north-central sections of the state.
Even though subfreezing temperatures aren't expected in central Florida, the combination of cold air and the wind will make it feel near freezing at times as far south as metro Orlando.
A chill in the air will also be felt across much of South Florida Wednesday morning.
