Very hot conditions will persist for the remainder of the week.
Temperatures across the peninsula will continue to be in the mid to upper 90's this week. In parts of north Florida, conditions will continue to near and or reach the heat advisory criteria on Tuesday and likely on Wednesday. And although afternoon showers and storms are developing during the afternoon, they are mainly isolated in nature and beginning after sundown... Which means little to no relief from the heat.
Through Friday, late afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible along I-75, the 301 corridor, and near I-4. The greatest concern with these storms will be periods of frequent lightning, and very strong winds up to 60mph during the overnight hours.
