Emily Weakens, Heavy Rain Continues in Spots

Emily continues to weaken as the former tropical storm moves inland across central Florida. Although the wind and coastal risks have subsided, some heavy rain and localized flooding is still possible across portions of south and east-central Florida.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are still possible through Tuesday morning near the greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale metro areas, with less amounts of around an inch near West Palm Beach and Ft. Pierce.  A second area of heavy rain is also likely to add up to nearly two additional inches near or just south of the I-4 corridor from Kissimmee to Daytona Beach, including parts of the Orlando metro area.
