Steady Rains Expected with Tuesday's Front

The State of Florida will not be excluded from the effects of the winter storm that is sweeping the eastern half of the United States.  Rain will be nearly continuous along a cold front moving across north Florida Tuesday and Tuesday night. Pockets of heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible when it arrives in central Florida Tuesday night and Wednesday. Rainfall totals are expected to range from 0.5 to 1" in most areas.  Cooler air will move into the panhandle in the wake of the front Tuesday, where highs will only be in the 50's. Afternoon temperatures will warm to the 60's to 70's from Jacksonville to Orlando, and in south Florida highs will hit the upper 80's.  After the fronts arrival, highs will be 10 to 20 degrees cooler in most areas on Wednesday.
